Sonia Infante
Sonia Angélica Infante López, widely recognized as Sonia Infante, was born on February 2, 1944, and left an indelible mark on the Mexican film and television industry before her passing on July 16, 2019. As the daughter of actor Ángel Infante, she was inspired to pursue a career in acting, following in the footsteps of her father and uncle, Pedro Infante.
Infante made her cinematic debut in 1960 and went on to appear in over 50 films throughout the 1960s, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the industry. In 1967, she chose to step back from the spotlight to marry producer Gustavo Alatriste and focus on raising their two children. Following their divorce in 1982, Infante re-entered the acting scene in the mid-1980s, not only starring in various telenovelas, including notable titles like "El precio de la fama" and "Un rostro en mi pasado," but also taking on the role of producer for several films.
During this period, she married actor Andrés García, although that union also ended in divorce. After a long and varied career, Infante retired from acting in 2007. Tragically, she passed away in 2019 due to cardiac arrest while hospitalized in Mexico City for paralysis, leaving behind a legacy celebrated by fans and colleagues alike.
