Joséphine Jobert
Joséphine Jobert, born on April 24, 1985, is a talented French actress and singer, widely recognized for her role as Detective Sergeant Florence Cassell in the beloved BBC One series "Death in Paradise." Hailing from Paris, she grew up in a culturally rich environment as the daughter of Véronique Mucret Rouveyrollis, an accomplished photographer, musician, writer, actress, and director, and Charles Jobert, a skilled camera operator and director of photography. Her diverse heritage includes Sephardic Jewish and Pied-Noir roots from Algeria through her father, while her mother’s lineage is a blend of Martiniquaise, Spanish, and Chinese backgrounds.
Joséphine's artistic lineage extends to her paternal aunt, Marlène Jobert, as well as her cousins, Eva Green and Elsa Lunghini, all of whom have made significant contributions to the arts. At the age of 12, she relocated with her family to Montreal, Quebec, where she spent eight formative years immersed in the world of performance. During this time, she honed her skills in singing and acting, participating in various creative projects, including song writing, video production, and an internet television series. She further developed her craft through drama workshops led by Stéphane Belugou and her studies at Coda Music School, laying the groundwork for her successful career in the entertainment industry.
