Benji Aflalo
Benji Aflalo first stepped into the limelight during his high school years with a role in the pilot of the sitcom "Raising Dad" (The WB, 2001-02). However, it was not until he graduated from college in 2006 that he truly embarked on his entertainment career. Initially starting as a stand-up comedian, Aflalo quickly transitioned into writing for comedy. He garnered notable early credits including "The Burn with Jeff Ross" (Comedy Central, 2012-13) and writing for high-profile events such as "The Comedy Central Roast of James Franco" (2013) and "The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber" (2015).
In 2015, Aflalo collaborated with Esther Povitsky on the comedic short film "Alone Together," which depicted the misadventures of an unlikely duo navigating life. This project not only showcased his talent as a writer and performer but also laid the groundwork for a more expansive adaptation. In 2018, "Alone Together" was transformed into a half-hour series on Freeform, with Aflalo and Povitsky reprising their roles. The series was produced by the renowned Andy Samberg and his fellow Lonely Island members Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, marking a significant achievement in Aflalo's career and further solidifying his presence in the comedy landscape.
