Jerry Haleva, born on May 26, 1946, is a notable American actor and political lobbyist renowned for his striking resemblance to the former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, a lookalike role that has defined much of his acting career. Haleva’s portrayal of Hussein became a significant aspect of his identity in the film industry, with his appearances in several notable films, including a memorable role in the cult classic *The Big Lebowski* and the comedic *Hot Shots!* series, where he had a prominent role in *Hot Shots! Part Deux*.

In addition to his acting endeavors, Haleva is an active political lobbyist affiliated with the Republican Party. Haleva's journey as a doppelgänger began in 1989 when a colleague jokingly linked him to Hussein, leading him to connect with Ron Smith, a representative for lookalikes in film. Despite stepping back from portraying Hussein during the Iraq invasion in 2003, he expressed a desire to return to acting in early 2004. As of 2016, Jerry Haleva continues to work as a contract lobbyist with Sergeant Major Associates, residing in Sacramento, California.
