Claire Nielson (née Isbister; born 8 April 1937) is a distinguished Scottish actress celebrated for her impactful roles in television. Among her notable performances, she is remembered for portraying the feisty wife of the abrasive American guest, Mr. Hamilton, in the iconic "Waldorf Salad" episode of the beloved British sitcom Fawlty Towers. Her versatility shone through in the 1960s crime drama Ghost Squad, where she played Jean 'Porridge' Carter, the secretary to Geoffrey Stock's character.

Nielson’s talent extended to numerous sketches on the Scottish New Year special Scotch and Wry, where she frequently appeared as the wife of Rikki Fulton's character from 1978 to 1993.
