Sammy Hagar

Samuel Roy Hagar, widely known as Sammy Hagar and affectionately referred to as The Red Rocker, was born on October 13, 1947, in Monterey, California. Hagar is a prominent American musician celebrated for his work as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, and he gained significant fame as a former member of the iconic rock band Van Halen.

Hagar's musical journey began with the band Montrose, where he showcased his dynamic vocal abilities and songwriting talents. In 1985, he joined Van Halen, a move that propelled him into superstardom. During his tenure with the group, which lasted until 1996, Hagar contributed to several successful albums, including the chart-topping "5150" and "OU812." He made a triumphant return to the band for a U.S. tour in 2004, further solidifying his status in rock history.

In 2009, Hagar formed the supergroup Chickenfoot alongside renowned musicians Joe Satriani, Chad Smith, and Michael Anthony, which demonstrated his versatility and enduring relevance in the music industry. Additionally, he was part of the short-lived supergroup H.S.A.S. in 1984, alongside Neal Schon, Kenny Aaronson, and Michael Shrieve, showcasing a collaborative spirit throughout his career.
