Allen Maldonado
Allen Maldonado, born on May 20, 1983, in Bellflower, California, is a versatile entertainer whose journey began at the tender age of five when he captivated audiences with his breakdancing skills. However, his family's move to Rialto, California, due to safety concerns in Compton, marked a pivotal moment in his life. Allen’s passion for performance blossomed when he first appeared on "Soul Train," igniting his love for the arts and leading him to discover his true talent: acting.
During his senior year of high school, Allen immersed himself in comedy shows and pep rallies, sharpening his skills and stage presence. After graduating, he took acting classes in the Inland Empire, which opened doors to a manager named Vance from Advance LA. This connection facilitated his transition to Los Angeles, where he landed his first acting role in the PBS series "Madison Heights," portraying Tyrone, a young street thug.
Recognizing his charisma, Vance introduced Allen to Bobbie Shaw Chance, a renowned acting coach whose alumni included Hollywood heavyweights like Drew Barrymore and Giovanni Ribisi. Under her mentorship, Allen honed his craft and quickly made an impact in the industry, securing a role in "Friday After Next" as a juvenile delinquent.
Today, Allen is known for his recurring role as Jamal on the Emmy-winning soap opera "The Young and The Restless" and hosts "The Courtyard," a national radio program on KPFK 90.7. With three films set to debut this fall—"God Army 2: States of Grace," "America 101," and "A Beautiful Life"—Maldonado continues to solidify his status as a rising star in Hollywood.
