Erika Shishido
Erika Shishido, widely recognized by her wrestling persona Aja Kong, is a celebrated Japanese professional wrestler and the visionary founder of the ARSION all-women wrestling promotion. Shishido's illustrious career has seen her capture numerous championships in both singles and tag team categories, primarily during her tenure with All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling (AJW). She was trained by AJW and graduated in 1986, making her professional debut that summer. Shortly after, she joined the notorious heel faction Gokuaku Domei, led by Dump Matsumoto, alongside her classmate Nobuko Kimura.
Following the dissolution of the stable in 1988, Shishido and Kimura reunited in 1990 as the duo Jungle Jack, embarking on a fierce rivalry against their former allies, including Bull Nakano. Their partnership yielded two WWWA World Tag Team Championship reigns and a memorable hair versus hair match in 1991, where they ultimately lost and were shaved bald.
Kong also pursued the prestigious WWWA World Heavyweight Championship, ultimately defeating Nakano on November 15, 1992, after several attempts, thus ending Nakano's three-year title reign. Her U.S. appearances included a standout performance at WWF's Survivor Series 1995, where she emerged as the sole survivor of a women's elimination match, defeating all four opponents, including champion Alundra Blayze.
Currently, Aja Kong competes for Oz Academy, where she has held the promotion's championship and leads the Jungle Jack 21 stable. Additionally, she participated in the Chikara JoshiMania weekend in December 2011, showcasing her enduring legacy in wrestling. Shishido's diverse heritage includes Japanese and African-American roots, with her father having served in the U.S. military.
