Elizabeth Lawrence

Elizabeth Lawrence (September 6, 1922 – June 11, 2000) was an accomplished American actress renowned for her extensive work in television and film. She achieved significant fame for her portrayal of Myra Murdock Sloane on the beloved soap opera All My Children, a role she held from 1979 until 1991, which solidified her place in daytime television history.

Lawrence’s talent extended beyond All My Children, as she appeared in several other daytime dramas including Guiding Light, As the World Turns, A World Apart, and The Road of Life. Additionally, she made a mark in film with memorable performances such as Chloe Williams, the blind mother of Julia Roberts' character Laura Burney, in the 1991 thriller Sleeping with the Enemy. Her film credits also include a notable role as Mrs. Blair alongside stars like Robert De Niro, Sean Penn, and Demi Moore in We're No Angels.

In 1996, she took on the role of Rebecca Nurse in the film adaptation of Arthur Miller's The Crucible, showcasing her dramatic range. Her final film appearance came in M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable in 2000, released shortly before her passing.
