George Vincent Gilligan Jr., born on February 10, 1967, is a prominent American writer and filmmaker celebrated for his remarkable contributions to television. He is best recognized as the visionary behind the acclaimed crime drama series Breaking Bad, which aired on AMC from 2008 to 2013, where he served as creator, head writer, executive producer, and sometimes director. His creative prowess extended to the series' spin-off prequel, Better Call Saul, which ran from 2015 to 2022, further solidifying his reputation in the industry. In addition to his television work, Gilligan directed, produced, and wrote the Breaking Bad sequel film, El Camino, released in 2019.
