Saido Kurbanov began his illustrious career in 1965 as an actor at the Tajikfilm studio. He pursued formal education in directing, graduating in 1975 from VGIK, where he honed his skills under the guidance of esteemed instructors Igor Talankin and Efim Dzigan. His directorial journey commenced with the film "Golden Arrow," which was honored at the All-Union Sports Film Festival in Frunze, earning praise for being the best directorial debut.

In the latter part of the 1980s, Kurbanov transitioned to acting at the Dushanbe Russian Theater, showcasing his versatility on stage. He later joined the Magnitogorsk Drama Theater, where he performed from 1991 to 2004, further solidifying his reputation in the performing arts.
