Roberto Mancini, born on November 27, 1964, is an esteemed Italian football manager and former player, currently leading the Italy national team since 2018. His playing career is most notable for his tenure at Sampdoria, where he made over 550 appearances and was instrumental in securing the Serie A title, four Coppa Italia trophies, and the European Cup Winners' Cup. Mancini earned 36 caps for the Italian national team, participating in UEFA Euro 1988 and the 1990 FIFA World Cup, where Italy reached the semi-finals.

After a successful spell at Sampdoria, Mancini transferred to Lazio in 1997, adding another Serie A title and a UEFA Super Cup to his accolades, ultimately collecting a remarkable six Coppa Italia titles—tied for the most in history alongside Gianluigi Buffon.
