Ayar Blasco

Ayar Blasco, born in Argentina in 1975, is a prominent figure in the animation industry, renowned for his innovative storytelling and artistic vision. He co-created the beloved character Mercano el Marciano with fellow animator Juan Antín, leading to the production of the animated feature film, *Mercano the Martian*, released in 2001. This film has garnered attention for its unique style and humor, marking a significant milestone in Argentine animation.

In addition to his collaborative efforts, Blasco has made notable strides as a solo director. His film *The Sun*, released in 2012, showcased his ability to blend imaginative narratives with striking visuals. Following this, he directed *Lava* in 2019, which was featured at the 34th Festival, further establishing his reputation within the animation community.
