Steve Borden, widely recognized by his ring persona Sting, is an acclaimed American professional wrestler and former bodybuilder, currently affiliated with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) where he serves as a mentor to Darby Allin. Celebrated as one of the all-time greats in professional wrestling, Sting has built an extraordinary legacy over a career that spans five decades, during which he captured a remarkable fifteen world championships.

Sting is particularly noted for his significant contributions to two major American wrestling organizations: the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW), which was acquired by WWE in 2001, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA, now known as Impact Wrestling). Despite WWE’s acquisition of WCW, Sting opted not to join them at that time. His wrestling journey also included stints with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), the Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF), and Mid South Wrestling.

Beginning his 14-year tenure with WCW and its predecessor, Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP) in 1987, he swiftly ascended to main event prominence and was often compared to Hulk Hogan of WWE, earning the title “The Franchise of WCW.” Throughout his career in WCW, Sting claimed 14 championships, including six reigns as WCW World Heavyweight Champion, two as WCW International World Heavyweight Champion, and one as NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He also headlined the record-setting Starrcade pay-per-view in December 1997 against Hogan. After WCW's closure and subsequent acquisition by WWF, Sting participated in the final Nitro episode alongside rival Ric Flair. Following a brief negotiation with WWF, he opted to wrestle internationally with World Wrestling All-Stars and captured the WWA World Heavyweight Championship before joining TNA in 2003. Over 11 years in TNA, he secured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship once more and claimed the TNA World Heavyweight Championship four times, making him the only wrestler to hold
