Jennifer Jayne (14 November 1931 – 23 April 2006) was a prominent English actress known for her work in film and television. Born Jennifer Jones in Yorkshire to parents involved in the theatrical world, she changed her name to avoid confusion with the well-known Hollywood star.

Jayne made her acting debut in a small role in the 1948 film Once a Jolly Swagman, which was followed by a part in The Blue Lamp (1949), both featuring legendary actor Dirk Bogarde. She continued to build her filmography with appearances in the mystery thriller The Black Widow (1951), alongside Anthony Forwood, who was Bogarde's longtime partner.

In the realm of television, Jayne was featured in several notable series, including guest roles in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1956), The Adventures of Sir Lancelot (1956), Sword of Freedom (1957), and Danger Man (1961). She gained recognition as the heroine’s spouse in the historical drama series The Adventures of William Tell.

In 1961, she showcased her talent as a romantic lead in the musical comedy Raising the Wind, and the following year, she starred opposite Norman Wisdom in the comedy On the Beat (1962). Jennifer Jayne married art director Peter Mullins in 1958, and their union lasted until her passing in 2006, marking a significant chapter in her life.
