Joseph Kearns
Joseph Sherrard Kearns (February 12, 1907 – February 17, 1962) was a notable American actor, renowned for his portrayal of George Wilson, affectionately known as "Mr. Wilson," in the beloved CBS television series Dennis the Menace, which aired from 1959 until his untimely passing in 1962. Additionally, Kearns lent his distinctive voice to the character of the Doorknob in Disney's classic animated film, Alice in Wonderland, released in 1951.
Kearns's life took a tragic turn on February 11, 1962, when he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during the show's third season. Despite being hospitalized, he never regained consciousness and sadly passed away just five days later, shortly after celebrating his 55th birthday. His contributions to television and film have left a lasting legacy, particularly in the realm of family entertainment, where his charming performances continue to resonate with audiences.
