Anna Maxwell Martin
Anna Maxwell Martin, born Anna Charlotte Martin on May 10, 1977, is a talented English actress recognized for her compelling performances across television and theatre. She has earned critical acclaim, winning two British Academy Television Awards for her remarkable portrayals—first as Esther Summerson in the 2005 BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens' Bleak House, and later as N in the Channel 4 production of Poppy Shakespeare in 2008.
Maxwell Martin gained further recognition for her role as DCS Patricia Carmichael in the popular BBC One crime drama Line of Duty from 2019 to 2021, as well as for her performance as Kelly Major in the comedy series Code 404, which aired from 2020 to 2022. Between 2016 and 2022, she appeared in the BBC comedy Motherland, a role that earned her a nomination for a BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance.
In addition to her screen work, Anna has a strong background in theatre, having played Lyra Belacqua in the National Theatre's production of His Dark Materials from 2003 to 2004.
