He was instrumental in the establishment of Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), a pioneering company that revolutionized visual effects in cinema. Prior to this, Edlund founded Pignose amplifiers, showcasing his innovative spirit. He later co-founded Boss Film Studios and DuMonde VFX, further solidifying his legacy in the field of visual effects.
Throughout his illustrious career, Edlund has garnered numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects for his exceptional work on the iconic films "Star Wars" in 1978 and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1982.
