Lillian Miles
Lillian Miles (1907 - 1972) was an American actress whose career spanned the early 1930s, primarily in the realm of film. Best known for her role in the iconic musical number "Continental" from the classic film The Gay Divorcee (1934), which featured the legendary duo Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Miles's cinematic journey was largely characterized by appearances in lesser-known 'B' movies.
Despite her limited filmography, she has garnered a dedicated following over the years, particularly for her memorable performance in the cult classic Reefer Madness (1936). In this notorious anti-drug film, Miles is celebrated for her intense piano sequence, where her character becomes increasingly agitated while being urged on by co-star Dave O'Brien with the famous line, "play it faster, faster!"
After her participation in the Edgar Kennedy short Baby Daze in 1939, she chose to step back from the film industry, thus concluding her brief but noteworthy career in cinema. Though her time in the spotlight was short-lived, Lillian Miles's contributions to film, especially within the musical genre and cult cinema, have ensured her a place in Hollywood history.
