Ivan Verkhovykh

Ivan Verkhovykh is a distinguished figure in the world of theater, having embarked on his artistic journey at the Saratov Theater School, where he graduated in 1978 under the guidance of Y. Kiselev. Following his graduation, he joined the Saratov Youth Theater, dedicating eight fruitful years to the company.

In 1985, he took a significant step in his career by enrolling in the Shchepkin Higher Theater School’s stage acting program. While still two years away from graduation, Ivan showcased his visionary talents by founding the Academy of Theater Arts in Saratov. As the artistic and stage director of this new theater, he quickly assembled a vibrant company of emerging actors, fostering a creative environment that thrived on innovation and collaboration.

Within just five years of its inception, the Academy of Theater Arts gained recognition and support from the local community. The city authorities responded to the appeals of Saratov’s theatrical community by granting the theater municipal status, a testament to Ivan's dedication and the impact of his work. His contributions have not only enriched the local theater scene but have also inspired a new generation of talent in the performing arts.
