Dylan Lighthall hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was raised by his parents, Dennis and Martha Lighthall. Initially captivated by sports, Dylan harbored aspirations of becoming a sports reporter, with visions of appearing on ESPN. However, during his freshman year at Appalachian State University, he encountered the world of Theatre, igniting a newfound passion for the performing arts. He later completed his degree at UNC-Charlotte and soon secured representation in the industry.

In 2018, Dylan shifted his focus to film, enrolling at "The Actor's Lab" in Charlotte, one of four locations including Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Portland, established by J.D. Lewis. Under the guidance of experienced instructors Pat Dortch and Bryan Pierce, he honed his craft. His career took off with a lead role in Grant Weaver's "Finding It," which he followed with another lead in "Its Night" in early 2019.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Dylan remained dedicated to his development, participating in virtual classes at The Actor's Lab. In 2020, he showcased his talent in the supporting role of "Mikey" in the feature film "Water for the Root." Additionally, he made his debut as a filmmaker with "Mutual," which became a finalist at "LabFest 2021." In 2021, he continued to expand his repertoire by writing, directing, and starring in two more projects: "Invisible" and "What Lies Between."
