Lou Romano
Lou Romano, born on April 15, 1972, is a distinguished American animator and voice actor known for his significant contributions to the animation industry. A San Diego native, Romano developed a passion for drawing and painting in his youth, which led him to pursue theater arts during his junior high and high school years. He studied acting at the School of Creative and Performing Arts, and later honed his skills in animation at the California Institute of the Arts from 1990 to 1992. He also completed workshops at The Groundlings in Los Angeles.
Romano’s career includes notable design roles on celebrated animated features such as *Monsters, Inc.* and *The Incredibles*. His voice talent brought characters to life, including Bernie Kropp in *The Incredibles*, Snot Rod in *Cars*, and Alfredo Linguini in *Ratatouille*. In 2000, he joined Pixar as the production designer for *The Incredibles*, earning an Annie Award in 2005 for his exceptional work.
His artistic contributions extend beyond film; his artwork has been showcased at prestigious venues like the Museum of Modern Art and The Metropolitan Opera in New York City, as well as gracing the cover of *The New Yorker*. In 2009, he transitioned from Pixar to LAIKA, continuing to influence the animation landscape with projects like *Herd*, *The Trouble with Lou*, and *Boys Night Out*. Romano, the original voice of the Amoeba Boys in *Whoopass Stew!*, has seen his characters return in *The Powerpuff Girls*. He resides in the Bay Area with his wife.
