Renate Stuurman
Renate Stuurman is a prominent South African actress celebrated for her memorable performances in various soap operas, notably as Denise in SABC2's "7de Laan," Jade in SABC3's "Isidingo," and Tamia Bardill in e.tv's "Scandal!" Hailing from Cape Town, Renate's passion for the performing arts led her to study drama at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, where she honed her craft under the guidance of esteemed actor and playwright Andrew Buckland, alongside distinguished choreographer Gary Gordon.
After earning her drama degree, she relocated to Johannesburg in 1999, quickly landing minor roles in e.tv series such as "Schoop Schoombie," "SOS," and "Backstage." Her breakthrough came with lead roles, including Denise in "7de Laan," Kim in the drama series "The Res," and Jade in "Isidingo." Renate also portrayed a journalist in the SABC2 series "Song vir Katryn."
Her versatility is further exemplified by her appearances in shows like "Jozi Streets," "Jozi-H," and "Riemvasmaak." In 2009, she showcased her talent internationally by playing the character 21-16 in the British-American mini-series "The Prisoner," which reimagined the iconic 1960s show. In 2010, she took on the role of Roxanne Davids in the SABC2 drama "The Mating Game," further solidifying her status in the South African entertainment industry.
