Linda Cristal
Linda Cristal, born Marta Victoria Moya Peggo Burges on February 23, 1931, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a talented actress renowned for her captivating performances in film and television. Her career took off in the early 1960s when she caught the attention of legendary actor John Wayne, who cast her as Flaca in the epic film *The Alamo* (1960). Following this success, she starred alongside James Stewart in the western *Two Rode Together* (1961). After these notable roles, Cristal chose to semi-retire to focus on raising her two children.
Despite stepping back from the spotlight, she made a triumphant return to television as the spirited matador in NBC’s *The Tab Hunter Show* during the 1960-61 season. Her most significant comeback came when she was cast as Victoria Montoya in the hit series *The High Chaparral*, after an exhaustive search by producer David Dortort for the perfect actress. Cristal’s portrayal of the strong-willed character became a defining role in her career.
Throughout the years, she also made guest appearances in well-known series such as *Bonanza*, *Barnaby Jones*, and *The Love Boat*. In her later years, she selectively accepted roles, including in the action film *Mr. Majestyk* (1974) alongside Charles Bronson. Linda Cristal passed away on June 27, 2020, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable performances.
