Melina Perez
Melina Nava Perez, born on March 9, 1979, is a distinguished American professional wrestler and model, best known for her impactful career in WWE under the ring name Melina. Her wrestling journey commenced in 2000 when she trained at Jesse Hernandez’s School of Hard Knocks, leading to her debut in 2001. Although she did not win WWE's Tough Enough III reality show in 2002, her determination was ignited by Al Snow's encouragement.
In March 2004, Perez signed with WWE and quickly made her mark in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), the organization’s developmental league. Here, she took on the role of manager for the tag team MNM, comprising Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury, guiding them to three reigns as WWE Tag Team Champions. Under her leadership, Nitro also captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice.
Throughout her illustrious career, Perez achieved significant accolades, including being a three-time WWE Women’s Champion and a two-time WWE Divas Champion. Notably, her second Divas title win made her the first woman in WWE history to hold both the Women’s and Divas championships multiple times.
Celebrated for her athleticism and flexibility, which she showcased in her entrances and matches, Perez received widespread acclaim, with wrestling legend Bret Hart calling her "one of the best wrestlers in the world." Her diverse offensive skill set remains recognized as one of the most impressive in Diva history.
