Her musical journey began at the tender age of three in Shanghai, China, where she first learned to play the piano. At five, she moved to the United States, where she took up the violin under her mother’s guidance. By the age of seven, Tina had transitioned to studying the cello with her father, Lu-Yan Guo. Her dedication to her craft led her to pursue professional training under Eleonore Schoenfeld at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where she earned a full scholarship and was recognized as a Governor's Scholar for her outstanding academic achievements.
