K.T. Stevens, originally named Gloria Wood, entered the world in Los Angeles, California, as the child of esteemed film producer and director Sam Wood. Her cinematic journey commenced at the tender age of two when she made her debut in her father's second silent feature, Peck's Bad Boy.

As she matured, Stevens opted to adopt the name K.T. Stevens to create a distinct identity separate from her father's legacy. Initially, she chose the name Katherine Stevens, which often got abbreviated to "Katie," ultimately leading her to settle on the concise initials "K.T."

In the 1940s and 1950s, Stevens garnered attention with her performances in various films, including Kitty Foyle, a project directed by her father alongside Ginger Rogers, as well as The Great Man's Lady featuring Barbara Stanwyck. She also starred in Address Unknown, Port of New York alongside Yul Brynner, Harriet Craig with Joan Crawford, and Vice Squad opposite Edward G. Robinson. One of her notable roles came in the 1969 film Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, where she played the character Phyllis. Her final appearance on screen was in the 1994 film Corrina, Corrina, featuring Whoopi Goldberg, just before she passed away from lung cancer.
