Christopher Allport (June 17, 1947 – January 25, 2008) was a talented American actor known for his versatile performances across stage and screen. Born Alexander Wise Allport Jr. in Boston, he began his journey in the arts at the tender age of nine at the Children's Theatre in New Canaan, Connecticut. As a student at Northwestern University, he collaborated with renowned director Paul Sills and became involved with Story Theatre.
Allport's impressive stage career included performances at the Public Theater in Lincoln Center and the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York, as well as notable appearances at venues in Los Angeles, including the Taper and South Coast Repertory. In 2007, he showcased his creative abilities by writing and starring in "The Backroad Home," a theatrical memoir featuring his original music, directed by Paul Linke and produced by his wife, Susan Hayden.
On television, Allport gained recognition for his role as Tim McGowan on the soap opera "Another World" (1973-1974).
