Charlotte Wessels

Johanna Charlotte Wessels, born on May 13, 1987, in the Netherlands, is a celebrated singer and songwriter, renowned for her role as the lead vocalist of the symphonic metal band Delain.

Her musical journey began when she crossed paths with Martijn Westerholt in 2004, which led to her joining Delain in 2005 as they transitioned from a studio project to a full-fledged band. Wessels remained a pivotal figure in Delain’s success until her departure in 2021. During her tenure, she contributed to the group’s distinctive sound and helped elevate them within the metal genre, earning accolades from fans and critics alike.

In 2021, shortly after leaving Delain, Wessels embarked on her solo career, releasing her debut album, *Tales from Six Feet Under*, in September of the same year. The following October, she continued her solo endeavors with the release of *Tales from Six Feet Under, Vol. II*, showcasing her versatility and creativity as a solo artist.
