Tommy Blom

Tommy Albert Blom (March 3, 1947 – May 25, 2014) was a prominent Swedish singer, songwriter, and musician, recognized for his significant contributions to the music scene. He gained early fame as a member of the band Tages during the 1960s, a group that played a crucial role in the Swedish pop and rock landscape.

In the mid-1990s, Blom transitioned into broadcasting, taking on the role of host for Vinyl 107, where he became a beloved figure. Although he faced a setback in 2008 when he was let go due to age-related reasons, he made a successful comeback in 2011. His weekly program, "60-tals morgon," aired every Sunday, featuring nostalgic songs from the 1960s that resonated with audiences and celebrated the era’s music.

In addition to his work in radio, Blom was also a dedicated music educator, sharing his passion for music as a teacher at Kvarnbäcksskolan in Haninge. He was involved in various musical collaborations, being a part of the groups Idolerna and The Cadillac band, further showcasing his versatility as an artist. Tommy Blom's legacy is marked by his enduring influence on Swedish music and his ability to connect generations through both his performances and teachings.
