Al Corley

Al Corley, born on May 22, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, is a multifaceted American actor, singer, and producer whose career spans several decades. In the late 1970s, he was a doorman at the iconic Studio 54, where he later shared his memorable experiences in a VH1 Behind the Music special focused on the legendary nightclub.

Corley gained widespread fame as the original Steven Carrington on the hit 1980s soap opera "Dynasty." His portrayal of the character, who navigated complex sexual dynamics, was groundbreaking for the time. However, after the second season in 1982, Corley departed from the show, expressing dissatisfaction with the evolving nature of his character and a desire to pursue diverse opportunities. The role was subsequently taken over by Jack Coleman, who remained until 1988, while Corley returned for the 1991 miniseries "Dynasty: The Reunion."

In addition to acting, Corley enjoyed a successful music career during the 1980s. His debut album, "Square Rooms," featured the title track, which became a number one hit in France in 1985 and achieved notable chart positions in several European countries. He followed this success with singles like "Cold Dresses" and released two more albums, "Riot of Color" (1986) and "Big Picture" (1988).

Corley married actress Jessika Cardinahl in 1989, and together they have three children: Sophie Elena, Ruby Cardinahl, and Clyde Nikolai Corley. He currently resides in the Pacific Palisades.
