Ken Buck

1 title Acting Feb 16, 1959 Ossining, New York, USA

Kenneth Robert Buck, born on February 16, 1959, is a prominent American attorney and political figure who has been serving Colorado's 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2015. His leadership experience includes a tenure as the chair of the Colorado Republican Party from March 30, 2019, until March 27, 2021, succeeding Jeff Hays.

Before his congressional career, Buck made a name for himself as the District Attorney for Weld County, Colorado. In 2010, he made an attempt to secure a U.S. Senate seat but fell short in a close race against Democrat Michael Bennet. Since his election to Congress, Buck has positioned himself as a leading advocate for antitrust measures within the Republican Party. Known for his strong fiscal conservative principles, he was one of only four Republicans to oppose House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's debt ceiling and deficit reduction proposal in April 2023. In a subsequent op-ed for the Washington Times, Buck articulated his concerns, questioning the effectiveness of a Republican majority if such limited spending cuts were the best the party could propose.

Throughout his political journey, Buck has demonstrated a commitment to conservative values and remains a significant voice on issues concerning economic policy and regulatory reform.
