Paul Weller, born John William Weller on May 25, 1958, is a prominent English singer-songwriter and musician. He first rose to prominence in the late 1970s as the lead guitarist and frontman of the iconic rock band The Jam, alongside his bandmates Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler. The Jam became a defining force in the mod revival scene, achieving both critical acclaim and commercial success throughout the UK during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

After the band's split in 1982, Weller went on to establish The Style Council with Mick Talbot, where he delved into a diverse array of musical genres, including pop, jazz, soul, hip hop, folk, and classical. While initially successful, The Style Council's popularity waned toward the late 1980s, culminating in their breakup in 1989.

Transitioning to a solo career in the early 1990s, Weller gradually regained his standing in the music industry with a series of acclaimed albums, including *Paul Weller* (1992), *Wild Wood* (1993), *Stanley Road* (1995), and *Heavy Soul* (1997). Renowned for his poignant lyrics reflecting English life, Weller has become a key figure in British music, often referred to as the "Modfather." His influence extends across generations, impacting artists in the alternative rock and Britpop scenes, such as Oasis. Over his career, Weller has garnered four Brit Awards, including three for Best British Male, and was honored with the Outstanding Contribution to Music award in 2006.
