Demis Hassabis

Sir Demis Hassabis (born 27 July 1976) is a prominent British artificial intelligence (AI) researcher and entrepreneur. He serves as the chief executive officer and co-founder of Google DeepMind and Isomorphic Labs, in addition to being a key adviser to the UK Government on AI matters. In 2024, Hassabis, alongside John M. Jumper, received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their groundbreaking work in AI-driven protein structure prediction.

A Fellow of the Royal Society, Hassabis has garnered numerous prestigious accolades for his contributions to AI research, including the Breakthrough Prize, the Canada Gairdner International Award, and the Lasker Award. His influence in the field was further recognized in 2017 when he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) and featured in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people. In 2024, he was honored with a knighthood for his outstanding services to artificial intelligence.
