Stacey Q

Stacey Lynn Swain, widely recognized as Stacey Q, was born on November 30, 1958, in Fullerton, California. As the youngest of three siblings, Stacey grew up in a creative environment, with her mother, Joyce, breeding Cardigan Welsh Corgis featured in film and television. From a young age, Stacey pursued dance, beginning ballet at five and joining the Dance Theater of Orange County by 1969. Her diverse training included classical ballet and flamenco, and she performed in various events, including Disneyland's Christmas Fantasy on Parade.

After graduating from Anaheim High School in 1976, Stacey joined the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, showcasing her talents as a showgirl and later as an elephant rider. She launched her singing career with a radio spot in Los Angeles, where she showcased her ability to mimic members of The Go-Go's.

In 1981, she crossed paths with Jon St. James at Fullerton's Casbah Recording Studio, where he was assembling a synthpop band called Q. Recognizing Stacey's potential, he invited her to be the lead vocalist. Her distinctive voice was featured on the band's track "Sushi," marking her entry into the music scene.

Stacey Q achieved commercial success with her 1986 hit "Two of Hearts," which soared to number one in Canada and reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100. The single also charted in several other countries, establishing her as a prominent figure in the pop music landscape. Through her dynamic performances and unique style, Stacey Q remains a celebrated artist in the music industry.
