Olivia Hallinan is a prominent British actress, celebrated for her portrayal of Laura Timmins in the beloved BBC series *Lark Rise to Candleford* and her role as Kim in the Channel 4 drama *Sugar Rush*. She also garnered attention for her character Ellie in *Girls in Love*.
Originating from Twickenham, West London, Hallinan is the second of four sisters. Her passion for acting was ignited at age 11 at her mother's drama school, All Expressions, in Teddington. After completing her education at St Catherine's School and Notting Hill & Ealing High School, she pursued a degree in English and Drama at the University of Manchester.
Throughout her career, which began when she was just seven, Hallinan has amassed over 100 productions, including early work alongside Cilla Black in a 1991 rendition of *Jack and the Beanstalk*. She has appeared in various television shows such as *The Bill*, *Holby City*, and *My Family*. Notably, Hallinan was featured in the cult series *Sugar Rush*, which debuted during her first year at university. She gained recognition as one of the 2008 UK Stars of Tomorrow in *Screen International*, joining the ranks of actors like Tom Hiddleston and Carey Mulligan.
In 2011, she made her film debut in the crime thriller *Jack Falls*. Her stage performances include *Precious Little Talent* at Trafalgar Studios and *Herding Cats* at the Hampstead Theatre. Hallinan's adaptability extends to radio, where she voiced Marianne Dashwood in a BBC adaptation of *Sense and Sensibility* in 2013.
