Jonathon Young is a talented Canadian actor renowned for his portrayal of Nikola Tesla in the SyFy series Sanctuary. His impressive filmography includes notable roles in The Fog, Eureka, and Stargate Atlantis. Beyond screen performances, Jonathon is highly regarded in the theatre community; he serves as the artistic director, playwright, and a frequent performer at the Electric Company Theatre, which he co-founded in Vancouver, Canada.

Growing up in British Columbia, Jonathon was inspired by his father, a school teacher who established a community theatre in Armstrong. He frequently accompanied his father and sister to performances, which ignited his passion for the stage. For Jonathon, pursuing acting was a natural path rather than a choice—it was a calling he felt from a young age.

He honed his craft at Studio 58, the prestigious theatre school at Vancouver’s Langara College. In 1996, he joined forces with fellow alumni Kim Collier, David Hudgins, and Kevin Kerr to create the Electric Company Theatre. Jonathon's contributions to the arts have earned him three Jessie Richardson Awards. His play Palace Grand was notably commissioned for the 2008 edition of Vancouver’s PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.

Jonathon is married to fellow actor and director Kim Collier, further intertwining their artistic lives.
