Johann Carlo
Johann Carlo, born on May 21, 1957, in Buffalo, New York, is a distinguished American actress known for her versatile contributions to theater and television. Carlo made her Broadway debut in 1983, captivating audiences with her portrayal of Louise in the production of *Plenty*. She returned to the Broadway stage in 1991 for the acclaimed play *La Bête*.
In addition to her acting, Carlo demonstrated her creative talents when commissioned by the Whitney Museum to write, direct, and perform in the musical *It's Still Life*, which successfully toured internationally in India and Morocco. She has crafted and performed various original pieces throughout her career.
One of her notable television roles was as Dixie, a cab driver who introduced the King of Cartoons on the beloved children's show *Pee-wee's Playhouse*, where she appeared in the first season. Carlo’s television credits also include appearances in popular series such as *Crime Story* (1986), *Law & Order* (1991, 1997), and *Chicago Hope* (1995). She is perhaps best known for her recurring role as Bonnie DiCaprio on the iconic series *The Sopranos* (1999).
