Julio César Chávez González, born on July 12, 1962, is a celebrated former professional boxer from Mexico, recognized for his remarkable career that spanned from 1980 to 2005. Known as Julio César Chávez Sr., he is a distinguished champion across three weight classes, earning a prominent place in boxing history. Between 1990 and 1993, Chávez was honored as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world by The Ring magazine.

Throughout his illustrious career, Chávez captured multiple titles, including the WBC super featherweight championship from 1984 to 1987. He followed this with the WBA and WBC lightweight titles from 1987 to 1989, and he held the WBC light welterweight title on two occasions between 1989 and 1996.
