Wayne Anthony Allwine (February 7, 1947 – May 18, 2009) was an accomplished American voice actor, sound effects editor, and foley artist, best known for his work with The Walt Disney Company. Born in Glendale, California, Allwine lent his voice to the iconic character Mickey Mouse for an impressive 32 years, making him the longest-serving voice of Mickey to date. He was married to esteemed voice actress Russi Taylor.

Allwine began his journey as the voice of Mickey in 1977, succeeding Jimmy MacDonald, who took over the role from Walt Disney himself, the original voice since 1928. His first performance was featured in the animated introductions for The New Mickey Mouse Club. Notably, his theatrical debut as Mickey was in the 1983 short film *Mickey's Christmas Carol*, where he voiced not only Mickey but also several supporting characters.

Throughout his career, Allwine participated in various films including *The Prince and the Pauper* (1990) and *Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers* (2004). He also appeared in TV series such as *Mickey Mouse Works* (1999-2000), *Disney's House of Mouse* (2001-2003), and *Mickey Mouse Clubhouse* (2006-2009), along with contributions to the *Kingdom Hearts* video game series.

Beyond voice acting, Allwine excelled as a sound effects editor for Disney and other studios, contributing to films such as *Splash* (1984) and *Three Men and a Baby* (1987). His legacy in animation and sound continues to resonate with audiences around the world.
