Óscar Gutiérrez Rubio

Óscar Gutiérrez Rubio, widely recognized in the wrestling world as Rey Mysterio, is a celebrated Mexican American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE. His journey in wrestling began under the guidance of his uncle, Rey Misterio, Sr., where he developed a passion for the Lucha Libre style, characterized by its high-flying maneuvers.

Gutiérrez began his career in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) in Mexico from 1992 until 1995. He then transitioned to Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) for a brief period from 1995 to 1996, before making a significant impact in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1996 to 2001. During his tenure at WCW, he became a pioneer of the cruiserweight wrestling movement in the U.S., winning the WCW World Tag Team Championship three times and the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship alongside Billy Kidman as a member of the Filthy Animals.

In 2002, Gutiérrez joined WWE, dropping "Junior" from his name, and has since made history as a three-time world champion, securing the World Heavyweight Championship twice and the WWE Championship once. He is the lightest wrestler to ever hold a world title in WWE. Among his numerous accolades, he has also captured the WWE Tag Team Championship four times, the Intercontinental Championship twice, and a record-setting eight Cruiserweight Championships. Overall, Gutiérrez has amassed an impressive total of 21 titles across WWE and WCW, earning him the distinction of the 21st WWE Triple Crown Champion and the title of Royal Rumble winner in 2006.
