Janice Karman
Janice Felice Karman, born on May 21, 1954, is a multifaceted American actress, film producer, record producer, singer, and voice artist. She co-owns Bagdasarian Productions alongside her husband, Ross Bagdasarian Jr. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Karman comes from a family of psychologists; her father, Harvey Leroy Karman (originally Harvey Walters), and her mother, Felice Karman, both pursued careers in psychology.
Karman's film career includes notable roles such as Bunny in the 1975 film "Switchblade Sisters," also known as "The Jezebels," and Hank in the 1976 exploitation movie "Slumber Party '57." Bagdasarian Productions primarily focuses on producing albums, cartoons, and various merchandise related to the beloved characters of Alvin and the Chipmunks, originally created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr. In addition to her production work, Karman lends her voice to the character Theodore and to the female spin-off group, The Chipettes—comprising Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor. She also portrayed La-Lu in "Little Alvin and the Mini-Munks." Although she initially voiced Theodore in the live-action/computer-animated film adaptation, promotional reasons led to his re-recording by Jesse McCartney, while Karman's singing contributions were retained.
Janice Karman and Ross Bagdasarian Jr. are proud parents of two children, a daughter named Vanessa, born in 1986, and a son, Michael, who was born on January 18, 1990.
