Vera Krouska
Varvara (Vera) Krouska, born in Athens in 1947, is a renowned Greek actress whose artistic journey began as a dancer in Fotis Metaxopoulos' ballet. She ventured into the film industry during the early 1960s, taking on minor supporting roles. Vera's notable filmography includes significant performances in works such as *I Blame My Body* (1969), *Saint Nektarios* (1969), *The Last of the Comitatzes* (1970), *The Last of Roupel* (1971), and *Give Me Your Hands* (1971).
Originally hailing from Sparta, Vera grew up in Agios Loukas, Patisia. At just 15, she was granted permission by the "Exceptional Talents" committee to enroll at the Drama School of the Athens Conservatory of Music, where she also pursued classical and modern dance under the guidance of esteemed instructors like Sonia Morianova, Miriam Swazi, and Kay Holden. She made her film debut in *Taxi Driver* (1962) before landing her first leading role in 1967's *Love in Lesbos*, produced by James Parris, with whom she signed a four-year contract.
Her theatrical debut took place in 1968 with *Forty Carats*, sharing the stage with Elli Lampeti. Vera has since starred in various productions, including *The Cactus Flower*, *Picnic*, and *Hamlet*, demonstrating her versatility and dedication to both theater and film throughout her illustrious career.
