Robert Desmond
Robert Desmond (16 December 1922 – 2002) was a distinguished British actor known for his contributions to film and television during the 1950s and 1960s. He embarked on his acting journey in juvenile roles, marking his cinematic debut in 1948 with "The Guinea Pig," where he shared the screen with Richard Attenborough. Desmond's early career included significant appearances in television films, notably reprising his portrayal of Spud Parker in the 1949 theatrical adaptation of "Boys in Brown."
Throughout his career, he collaborated once again with Attenborough in the iconic war film "The Great Escape" (1963), playing the role of Griffith the Tailor. Desmond's filmography is rich with diverse roles, featuring notable works such as "The Cockleshell Heroes" (1955), "Indiscreet" (1958), and "The Ugly Duckling" (1959).
