Janek Joost

Janek Joost, born on June 19, 1977, in Pärnu, Estonia, is a distinguished actor whose career has made a significant impact on the Estonian performing arts scene. He completed his early education at Pärnu 2nd Secondary School and Pärnu Raeküla School and later graduated from evening classes at what is now known as Pärnu Adult High School. During his studies, Joost honed his craft at the Aare Laanemetsa Theater Studio while gaining practical experience working at Paikseraradio.

Joost pursued formal training in acting, graduating in 2000 from the Higher Performing Arts School of the Estonian Academy of Music. His dedication to the craft culminated in 2007 when he earned a master’s degree, presenting a thesis that explored the critical role of voice in character development.

From 2000 to 2005, Joost was a prominent actor at the Vanemuise Theater, where he showcased his talents in various productions. Following this period, he transitioned to freelance acting, frequently collaborating with Tartu Uus Teater, where he continued to build his reputation as a versatile performer.
