As the younger sibling of legendary artist Barbra Streisand, Kind has carved out her own niche in the entertainment industry since her teenage years.
Inspired by her grandfather, who served as a cantor, and her mother, Kind launched her music career shortly after high school, releasing her debut album, "Give Me You," in January 1969. This milestone coincided with her inaugural professional performance at the Hungry I in San Francisco, marking the beginning of a long and fruitful career.
In 1969, Kind made her New York City debut at the prestigious Persian Room in the Plaza Hotel, where she performed to an enthusiastic audience, including her famous sister. She gained further recognition after appearing on an episode of Saturday Night Live on April 16, 1977.
Over the decades, Kind has toured extensively as a cabaret artist, showcasing her talents on international stages. Notably, she joined Barbra Streisand on her 2012 national tour, "Back to Brooklyn," and again on her 2013 European tour, "Barbra Streisand LIVE," where they shared the spotlight in a memorable duet. Many of Kind's performances have been directed by Richard Jay Alexander, who is also Barbra Streisand's concert director, further solidifying her connection to the iconic music world.
