His journey began at Bilkent University, where he received a scholarship to join the Theater Department in 2010. During his time there, he actively participated in numerous productions, honing his craft and showcasing his talent on stage.

In 2016, Çakay expanded his experience by working as an assistant to the renowned director Jason Hale. His educational background includes collaborations with a diverse group of both domestic and international directors, such as Aleksey Burago, Daniel Irizarry, Erdal Kücükkömürcü, ISIL Kasapoglu, Zeynep Ekin Öner, and John Uecker.
