Michelle Meyrink
Michelle Meyrink, born on September 1, 1962, in Vancouver, British Columbia, is a Canadian actress celebrated for her memorable performances in the 1980s. Known for portraying quirky teenage characters, she gained significant recognition for her role as the energetic prodigy Jordan Cochran in the 1985 film *Real Genius*. Additionally, she endeared herself to audiences as Judy, the female nerd in the 1984 cult classic *Revenge of the Nerds*.
Throughout her career, Meyrink showcased her talent in several notable films, including *Valley Girl* (1983), where she played Suzi Brent, and *The Outsiders* (1983), in which she appeared as Marcia’s best friend. In 1984, she made a guest appearance on the popular television series *Family Ties*, playing a friend of Mallory's, further solidifying her presence in the entertainment industry. Her final Hollywood project was the 1988 film *Permanent Record*.
After stepping away from acting, Meyrink sought a deeper meaning in life, leading her to explore Zen practices. She relocated to the Dominican Republic to be closer to family and later returned to Vancouver, where she met her husband, John, at the Zen Centre of Vancouver in 1996. As of 2010, the couple resides on Bowen Island with their three children. The family’s journey into Zen Buddhism was featured in a 2004 episode of the Canadian series *Quiet Mind*.
