James Reiher, renowned as Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, was a prominent Fijian American professional wrestler whose dynamic career spanned from the 1970s to the 2010s. He gained immense popularity during the 1980s while wrestling for WWE, where he was pivotal in popularizing the high-flying wrestling style that captivated audiences. Snuka's impressive feats in the ring earned him a place in the WWF Hall of Fame in 1996, although his legacy became marred in later years.

Notably, he was the first to hold the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, claiming the title twice during his tenure with Eastern Championship Wrestling, which would later evolve into Extreme Championship Wrestling. His influence on the sport continues through his children, Sim Snuka and Tamina Snuka, both of whom followed in his footsteps as professional wrestlers.

However, Snuka's life took a tragic turn when he was indicted in September 2015 for third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter concerning the death of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, in 1983. Though he maintained his innocence, Snuka was deemed unfit for trial due to a dementia diagnosis in June 2016. The legal proceedings ended with the charges being dismissed on January 3, 2017, shortly before his passing on January 15, 2017, at the age of 73. Despite the controversies, Snuka remains a significant figure in wrestling history.
