Andrey Smolyakov
Andrey Smolyakov, born in 1958 in Podolsk, Moscow Oblast, is a distinguished Russian actor whose career spans over four decades. He embarked on his theatrical journey at the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute, where he honed his craft for three years before graduating in 1980 from the State Institute of Theatre Arts. His professional debut took place at the renowned Moscow Art Theatre, where he showcased his talent. Between 1984 and 1986, he further enriched his experience at the Satyricon Theatre, before joining the esteemed Oleg Tabakov Studio Theatre in Moscow in 1987.
Smolyakov made his film debut in 1978 and has since become a familiar face in Russian cinema, amassing an impressive portfolio of over 80 films. His collaborations with some of the nation's most prominent directors have solidified his reputation in the industry. Among his notable film roles are appearances in “Daddy” (2004), directed by Vladimir Mashkov, “Escape” (2005) by Egor Konchalovsky, the acclaimed war film “Stalingrad” (2013) directed by Fedor Bondarchuk, and the historical epic “Viking” (2016) by Andrey Kravchuk.
